Many people forget that compressed air can be dangerous if your compressor is not cared for. Many people also think that the only maintenance that needs to happen is draining the compressor after each use, but there are some other important steps that can be taken on a regular basis to be sure that your compressor is up to par.

Changing The Oil in Your Compressor

Looking through the user manual on the compressor or looking on the sticker located near the motor, you should see the recommended oil change frequency. Just like on the engine in your car, changing the oil in your compressor can help the engine last far longer and it will lessen the chance of anything breaking in the motor.

Checking for loose Bolts

When an air compressor turns on to compressor air, this is often accompanied by a lot of shaking. After a long period of time, all of the shaking can cause bolts and screw to become loose and fall off. It is important to periodically tighten all nuts and bolts to make sure that they are tight. It can be a very frustrating process to find out that a bolt became loose and then became lost. Often, this will happen and make it hard to find a replacement bolt.

Checking the Tank for Corrosion

Draining the tank of air and moisture after each use can help to prevent any corrosion on the inside of the tank, but after an extended period of time it can slowly build up and become a hazard. It is important to take the compressor into a tool shop to have it checked for corrosion and pressure tested. If the tank becomes corroded it has the possibility of failing under pressure and this can a be a very dangerous situation.<div

Harbor Freight tools are not known to be the longest lasting tools, but if you take care of them and find the right replacement parts, they can really last a long time and end up saving money at the end of the day.

There have been time when I am searching for central pneumatic air compressor parts and I just cant seem to find the right part. I have been successful at finding parts for campbell compressors and they often will work with a little bit of creativity. This really depends on the part that needs to be replaced and I would only recommend it as a last resort. It can be kind of unearving to purchase a part only to cross your fingers and hope that it will fit and work as a valid replacement for central pneumatic air compressor parts.

<img

It can take some time to go through some of the search results to find a reputable company that sells your specific part, but it can save you money if you do end up finding the part the you need at the end of the day.

The hardest part of the whole process is that the sources for central pneumatic air compressor parts are very limited. There really are not that many companies that carry them and your best bet would be to go into your local Harbor Freight store to see what they would recommend. Often times they have access to parts that might not be found on your own.

Worst case scenario if you cant locate the right central pneumatic air compressor parts, is that you will need to purchase a replacement compressor from your local Harbor Freight store. Luckily they are priced in a way that allows them to be very affordable and it makes it easier to purchase tools for small jobs or tools that you may not use on a regular basis. In the times that I have searched for central pneumatic air compressor parts, I have been successful about forty percent of the time and for those times that I was not successful I just replaced my compressor.<div

During my construction years, I have used many different tools. When I started construction I was doing framing with heavy duty nail guns and they required some heavy duty air compressors. We used our central pneumatic air compressor as a secondary unit in case someone needed to branch off from the main line and do a small job. I don’t know if I would recommend a central pneumatic air compressor for projects like framing, but I have been doing finish carpentry for the past 10 years and I would definitely recommend them for smaller nail guns. Finish nail guns are smaller by nature because they only fire a small finish grad nail and this is perfect for my central pneumatic air compressor.

I find that it performs well in all conditions. I have had times where the rain is pouring and it has continued running without fail. There was one time that the motor stopped working, but I went to the store and purchases a replacement because it really was getting old. I find that they need to be replaced after a few years of consistent use, but for the value that they offer it ends up saving me money in the long run.

Where to Purchase a Central Pneumatic Air Compressor

My central pneumatic air compressor was purchased at the local harbor freight store along with a few other tools that I use on a regular basis. Harbor Freight is sometimes known for their tools not being the best quality, but I rarely have very many problems with them. When I do have problems with my central pneumatic air compressor, I can normally find replacement parts for it and it extends the lifespan of the compressor. Parts are not easy to source out for them, but if you search long enough on google you can find pretty much any replacement part.

<img

After every use, I always drain all the air and make sure to drain any moisture that has been built up in the tank. This really helps prevent any rust from being built up in the tank and then going up into the mechanics of the compressor. If it is at all possible you will want to try and keep your central pneumatic air compressor out of the rain or snow. Keeping it out of the elements will help extend the longevity of the compressor. As long as you take proper are of your central pneumatic air compressor, there will be a smaller chance of running into any problems and you will save money from buying a brand name compressor.
<div
